ABSTRACT

In cross-border journalism, there are some crucial aspects: the early stage of setting up a team; preparing a research plan; drafting a budget; agreeing on a shared framework from idea to publication and beyond; and agreeing on the technical aspects of communications and document sharing. There is a need for a deeper understanding of domestic journalism traditions, of work routines, of legal, ethical and security aspects and not least of the supporting technology. This chapter provides a walk through all those aspects including lists of key questions to remember.
