ABSTRACT
In this chapter, we introduce metric spaces and related basic concepts. We then discuss complete metric spaces. We prove Bolzano-Weierstrass theorem and Cantor intersection theorem. We then introduce Cauchy sequences, convergent and divergent sequences in a metric space and discuss their properties in detail.
