ABSTRACT
This chapter explains the various geometrical errors and surface irregularities related to micro electric discharge machining (EDM). The heat flow into the workpiece and tool, as well as the depositions on their surface, leads to dimensional changes, shape distortions, and microstructural changes. The causes of all irregularities are discussed in detail. Understanding the source of errors in micro EDM helps to minimize the inaccuracies by setting appropriate machining conditions.
