ABSTRACT

The verification of the selected case examples are based on a pretest–post-test design. The main criticism of a pretest–posttest design from a research point of view is the lack of internal and external validity because I am just measuring one group instead of two as exemplified in the chapter Reinstating the Correct Message. But I am not just depending on the outcomes of the pretests and posttests of the experimental groups alone. I am also comparing them to archival data. The results are identical to researched outcomes conducted with other participants over the years. It is similar to hundreds of other cases where I adopted the same method and specifications to treat primary and secondary refractive errors. The outcomes demonstrate the consistency of applying standardization in treating a specific problem.

The following are examples of actual cases where I applied the recommended drill (the method) and flatness factor (the specifications of the contact lens) to treat a specific primary or secondary refractive error: mild myopia, moderate myopia, high astigmatism, compound anisometropia and anisometropic amblyopia, and compound anisometropia and high astigmatism.
