ABSTRACT

In the economy of the world, the hospitality sector is one of the fastest growing industries. In modern hospitality business, it is all about competence in people, and especially the employees’ skills. However, the hospitality industry faces real challenges in matching its skill requirements to the changing labor market in every country and elsewhere. A medium-size hotel organizational structure basically segmented into six divisions: finance, front office, human resources, food and beverage, sales, and logistics. Employability skills are technical and nontechnical competences that are fundamental requirements for employment in the competitive job market. Considering multiskilling in the process of hiring to meet the demand of providing service quality, excellence is a strategic option for human resource professionals in the industry. Employee skills promote a positive attitude, efficient behaviors, effective communication, respectful interaction, and the ability to remain composed in difficult situations. Self-management is considered the third most important employability skill required in the work environment.
