ABSTRACT

1. When we last discussed Poland on 19 April, I told you that work was in hand on proposals for economic assistance we might offer the Poles in response to the political reforms they have introduced. Since then, William Waldegrave has been to Poland 1 and discussed ideas with a wide range of people; and officials from the Whitehall departments concerned have completed the enclosed joint study. 2 You may wish to discuss the matter with those colleagues immediately concerned.
