ABSTRACT
1. Armed with a bottle of champagne I went to see Notev this morning accompanied by Alan Charlton and Andy Purdon. We toasted his release and passed to him photographs of the escape and press cuttings about his case. With Notev was Thomas Mueller, one of the two young men who succeeded in scrambling on to the Western Bank on 14 February. The third escaper, Thomas Schildberg, is also in Berlin.
