ABSTRACT

This chapter offers several models which allow exploring the different perspectives of pairs or groups of people as they interact. It explains how their views of us may differ from our views of self. The chapter describes how the reverse is also true: we do not experience them in the same way that they see themselves. It shows that we all make assumptions and guesses about each other. The chapter explores our communications and interconnections with others. Some of the subliminal messages leaders receive from frogs/princes/princesses may also fit. Many people who explore their interactions with, and expectations of, others, have found a simple concept surprisingly powerful. It is the idea of the emotional bank account. The belief that sharing and supporting pays off, leads us to introduce the idea of generosity in an emotional bank account. Few of us go straight to the final Adult thought without an emotional response.
