ABSTRACT
The generic and specific names of the known South Asian mammals from Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, India, Nepal, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka are explained in this chapter. The root and exact or closest meaning of each taxonomic nomen are provided.
