ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses a discourse on self-determination in the area of state-building research. It describes a study of self-determination and state-building. The chapter discusses a study of self-determination and state-building. It offers a review of the literature that explored and explained what is known about the role played by self-determination in this context. The chapter also describes that there is a dominant narrative through which the study of self-determination in relation to state-building has been approached. It provides an overview of the main findings of this study and then moves on to consider the implications of these findings, as well as the wider significance of this study for international law research. The chapter also presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book.
