ABSTRACT

In this paper we will make an attempt to analyze management as a scientific discipline. We will briefly dwell on the history of motivation in industry, and analyze the concept of management and manager. The basics of activity theory and its terminology as an important factor in understanding the concept of activity will be described. We will discuss some aspects of decision making in management. The applied activity theory approach to the compatibility factor in the work of operators of human-machine systems will be analyzed. We will emphasize the effect of the group structure on the efficiency of operators' performance. The influence of social environment on human productivity in general will be considered in this work.
