ABSTRACT

In the current environment, many firms recognized that implementation of sustainable practices not only provides competitive edge, but it is mandatory for firm survival. Moreover, the growth of human and society all around the world have increased massive resource consumption and production activities. It is, therefore, imperative to encourage sustainability philosophy in the Supply Chain (SC) activities of a company. Sustainable procurement is the first step towards implementation of sustainable supply chain (SSC). This has been done by selecting suitable sustainable outsourcing suppliers/partners. To do this, the focal firm must concentrate on sustainable procurement initiatives. This work proposes a fuzzy-based MCDM model for evaluation and ranking of the sustainable procurement initiatives in order to achieve SSC. A case of Indian Electronic industry demonstrates the application of the proposed framework. This study may benefit managers and business professionals not only in SP initiatives evaluation process, but also in the selection of the efficient sustainable suppliers.
