ABSTRACT

If God allows suffering and harm, then God is also responsible for redeeming that harm. In the first part of this chapter, the author explores four contemporary concepts of redemption by analysing the content of redemption (what redemption will look like), the scope of redemption (what creatures will be redeemed), and the motivation of redemption (why those who are redeemed will be redeemed). Redemption can be parsed along several different complementary lines, but Sollereder’s proposal is that each creature is individually redeemed in relationship to everything else, creating a mosaic of eschatological meaning and experience.
