ABSTRACT

A process that vaguely resembled a Collaboratory went sour when a stakeholder group felt insulted and instrumentalized by the event organizer. The quality of the output is the result of the quality of the relationship of the space that has been created for multi-stakeholders. The comfort zone for stakeholder groups means that the needs of their own organization comes first at the expense of needs and interests of others. Stakeholders may have the opinion of holding isolated positions and they may feel marginalized or even disconnected as a result. Individuals are able to transcend their personal priorities in favor of the common good and to open up for a connectivity to build with others. Being issue-oriented implies that we are able to shift our focus to collaborating so that all of us can live well on that one planet. The state of co-creation is most visible in moments of stillness; this is when the emerging resonance speaks loudest.
