ABSTRACT
Implementation of process plant projects goes through a number of phases which are named in various ways depending on the way of categorization. One of the crucial points in starting implementation of a project is the process technology to be used. Project initiation is the first step in life of all projects. In general, it starts with a real current or an expected future need and sometimes just from an inspiring idea that may lead to shaping up to a project. In an engineering company, a project manager is appointed by the relevant divisional director for each contract. A principal milestone in project initiation is the kickoff meeting with the owner. A Project Management Consultant/Contractor contracting is almost always utilized when the project is quite big in size, example, made up of multiple units with significant complexity, like a new refinery or a chemical/petrochemical complex.
