ABSTRACT

The concluding chapter runs through all analytical dimensions offered earlier and focuses on the entwining traits of emerging policy challenges; these are tagged on in a spherical model for reappraising the prevailing policies and action planning. Some ideas are floated towards furtherance of maritime education, research and developmental planning. Bangladesh has inspirational legacies that served as a basis for its maritime gains, which offer prospects for an enhanced maritime destiny. It has an appropriate national vision; relevant conceptual notions are also in place. However, those must be applied with perspective towards full exploitation of the resources and the strategic advantages offered. Towards ensuring a secured maritime future Bangladesh must change the image it currently has, harmonize its politics, ensure good governance, both land and maritime, and drive towards policy ends.
