ABSTRACT
It is often the case that large technical documents involve many writers. Chapter 10 covers the challenges of writing with many collaborators. Topics include solving the problem of writing in different voices, tools for writing collaboration, and using metrics to detect nonhomogeneous writing. The social dynamics of groups and its effect on writing projects is discussed with suggestions on overcoming problems. Paradigms for teambuilding and overcoming antipatterns are also introduced. Several examples, vignettes, and exercises are given.
