ABSTRACT

Scientific writing includes certain books, reports, tutorials, proposals, surveys, scientific articles, reviews, and much more. These are discussed in detail. Scientific articles include writings in scholarly journals, magazines, conferences, and masters and doctoral theses. These comprise a very special kind of technical writing as they are archived in digital libraries for search and retrieval by other scholars, in perpetuity. Therefore, the special aspects of this kind of writing is thoroughly discussed. Advice for reviewing scientific writing and writing blind reviews is also covered. Numerous examples, exercises, and vignettes of all types of scientific writing are given, including a mini-proposal for a scientific research project.
