ABSTRACT
This chapter focuses on media representations of Rohingya in Bangladesh and India to highlight how the Rohingya refugees enter into and shape popular discourse on asylum, refugees and infiltrators in these two countries. It also draws from primary interviews conducted in Bangladesh and Kolkata. The chapter examines how public opinion shapes the response of the nation states towards various stateless population groups.
