ABSTRACT
This chapter will open a new window for discussion. Establishing the bases on the main pillars that have been discussed will guide future decisions on other cases. New actions should be taken to stop the damaging effects on underwater cultural heritage due to ‘out-of-date’ legislation. The 2001 UNESCO Convention benefits from being a non-funded Convention with an Annex. Updating this Annex should be considered as a real possibility. The main aim of this book is to provoke discussion on the values and significance of heritage and its legal protection.
