ABSTRACT

This chapter takes as its touchstone the recent focus of attention given the violence(s) against women in the resurgence of interest in the #MeToo campaign generated by the case of Harvey Weinstein. In so doing the chapter considers the nature and extent of criminal justice efforts to respond to such violence(s) and, reflecting on their documented failures, asks whether or not virtual justice offers an alternative. It makes the case for going back to the future in order to better respond to women’s demands for justice on these issues.
