ABSTRACT
This chapter highlights several possible security issues in big data and how to deal with them. It prompts the research and development community to focus on the discussed issues, thus leading to a more secure and trustworthy big data platform. The chapter focuses on the management techniques after capturing the data in a big data system. Data governance deals with management of data in an organization in an efficient and cost effective manner. It involves the following important issues: accuracy, availability, usability and security. Data privacy is probably one of the major topics in security aspects of big data techniques. Big data can potentially enable invasions of privacy, invasive marketing, decreased civil liberties, and increased state and corporate control. Big data is the demand of the second and is a hot topic for IT industries due to the ample opportunity it provides to enhance the business.
