ABSTRACT

The requirement of electric vehicle is inexorable to save energy and to protect the environment. Induction motor is very simple to manufacture and it’s easy to control, with its improved characteristics are best suited motor for traction applications. This paper focus on design and optimization of induction motor with Less Cost and High Performance (LCHP). The performance of the induction machine depends on its dimensional constraints. The starting torque of the induction motor is an important aspect in traction application which is improved with the double cage rotor is presented in this paper. An analytical modelling is carried out and its validated by using the FEA analysis.
