ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the preceding chapters of this book. The book discusses the pressing need to take action to ensure that the rhetoric of enlightened approaches becomes a reality. It highlights the need for the whole eco-system to be engaged in the narrative, to include its creation, orientating thinking around certain shared principles. The book highlights the need to underpin all discussion with an absolute commitment to inclusivity, and to ensuring that University College London’s curriculum represented different diverse knowledge traditions. It provides a great insight into the success of Coventry University, in that having been early adopters in their use of ‘big data’ they have constantly deployed management information to enhance organisational agility and to support real-time strategic decision making. The use of ‘big data’, once seen as the preserve of the retail industry, is seen as essential in supporting inclusive, agile and flexible ways of running the business.
