ABSTRACT

This chapter introduces, at a high/survey level, an inventory of known, parking structure-related, adaptive reuse case studies. Since, at this stage of driverless vehicle (DV) development, the inventory of these cases is quite small, they are categorized by type, such as actual parking structure rehabs, new structures built with parking that is designed to be convertible in the future, and proposed rehabs of both of these types in progress. We also distinguish between private and public sector projects. This inventory is dynamic, so these examples are at the vanguard of a movement sure to grow substantially in coming years. A few of these projects (the Wedge, and the Summit Hotel are subjected to more rigorous case study level analysis in subsequent chapters.
