ABSTRACT

In this chapter, we go through a worldwide generalist overview of intellectual property, with an emphasis on the United States. Topics include trademarks, copyright, patent, right of publicity, and moral rights. Each is considered individually and the law is explained in layman’s terms, including practical examples. How much does each one of those cost to file, what do they cover, and how long does the protection last? The chapter also discusses intellectual property litigations in the industry, describing differences between winning and losing claims.
