ABSTRACT
In some of his sessions, Victor would say he had found his freedom, not only in his external life, but also internally and he was ready to finish his treatment. However, in other sessions he would talk about feeling empty. Victor had not sought treatment from anyone else before coming to see Dr. Adeline. He had, symbolically speaking, began walking side by side with Dr. Adeline and they began observing things together. Victor began talking more and more about his new girlfriend Lara. He met her after she had got a promotion in the same company and had been assigned to a very good administrative position. He told his analyst that his relationship with Lara was a reflection of his learning to have a different type of relationship with a woman, something that was new for him. He married Lara before finishing his analysis.
