ABSTRACT

In the first chapter, I tried to set out what I think is possible and what is not possible for psychotherapists when it comes to the application of our ideas and practices to the world of politics. People writing from a therapy perspective need to be careful not to come over just as intelligent journalists or commentators on politics, or as bloggers. What would be the point of that? But we also do not want to descend into psychobabble or use abstract technical language that could never be operationalised.
