ABSTRACT
Attachment theory was first proposed to explain observations made in the course of research on maternal deprivation, but its subject of study has now widened considerably to include other issues in the fields of psychoanalysis, developmental and cognitive psychology, social psychology, psychopathology, and psychotherapy.
