ABSTRACT
This chapter discusses in detail the psychodynamics the clinician has repeatedly uncovered in Asperger's children, adolescents, and adults, and explores the central factors in the aetiology of Asperger's Disorder. Thanos was a fourteen-year-old of Macedonian heritage. The dialectical interplay of transference and countertransference between them was mostly quite positive in nature. Thanos treated the author as an intellectual sounding board with which he could endlessly discuss detailed and obscure aspects of history and of the computer games which fascinated him. Thanos would talk to the clinician about historical interactions between different countries in the context of European and Middle Eastern geography. Thanos had when he was fourteen become preoccupied with an interactive online computer game called "eRepublik". As Thanos got closer to applying for higher education, he was torn in a different way.
