ABSTRACT

Psychotherapy has always been a passion for me. After twenty-seven years of practicing, I still feel passionately about it. I suspect that this is true for many therapists, including those who have been practicing longer than I have. Practicing psychotherapy is something I look forward to and, as I reflect on it, I find numerous parts of it I enjoy—sitting with people, learning about them, helping them, hearing about their lives, their pain, their victories. Perhaps most of all, I enjoy the feeling of understanding what’s going on within them, and of having that understanding deepen over time.
