ABSTRACT

Some people are prone to addiction and threaten their own health and welfare with their habits, which become very unbalanced. The author considers briefly what can be done to help individuals to continue to seek a healthy, balanced life when they are seemingly caught up in an unbalanced and unhealthy pattern of behaviour. Continuing to look at the habits from the outside, it may be possible for those around the person to see that the habit is isolating him, leading to his moral corruption, messing with his health and sleep patterns, or threatening his continuing health. Habits and addictions tend to create a blindness which stops the person from seeing the facts clearly. They are not too good at handling stress, though, which is why they fell into the habit in the first place, so it rapidly becomes intolerable to them.
