ABSTRACT

Gregor Zvelc offers an articulate reflection of what he means by relational and describes some of principles he applies through his mindfulness work. He links his thinking to some of our co-creative perspectives, with particular reference to ego states. There is a clear coherence to Gregor's contribution, an internal consistency between his thinking, values and practice that stands out as a distinct and effective approach to expanding Adult capacity. From an educational perspective, Trudi Newton brings together the key ideas of empathy, mutuality and context to emphasise four guiding pointers to the co-creation of better learning systems and better societies. These are: that learning is rooted in experience and relationship; that the aim of learning is to enable autonomy, a wider frame of reference and interdependence through expansion of the Adult and empathic relating; that social and political context can be taken into account through adaptation or confrontation; and that individuals and communities can embrace transactional design.
