ABSTRACT

Scientists believe that they are closing in on discovering the mystery of dark matter in the universe. In the field under consideration, clinicians and researchers are also hoping to further unravel the mysteries of dark matter that occupies much of the mind. While there is much to learn on an underlying neurophysiological basis, therapeutically it is best studied under the specialised conditions created in an analytic relationship. Certainly, in the case of those who have been profoundly affected by trauma, it is absolutely essential for the clinician to become as comfortable as possible with his own demons, as it is almost certain that they will be summoned by the forces in the dark matter of the patient's mind. The more people learn about the mutual influences of mind and body, as well as external factors impinging upon the human experience, the more psychoanalysts will, hope, be able to treat the effect of these dark matters of the mind.
