ABSTRACT
Starting with the crucial benefits of literacy, education is generally reckoned to be one of the things which make the most essential contribution to well-being. Education involves a complex process of learning and development to which literacy, which is basically a skill-set, is its portal of entry. The education, in the form of schooling and teaching activities, lends itself as much to oppression and abuse as it does to liberation and enlightenment. The main benefit of children attending school is not that they learn things; it provides a situation where they can meet and learn to relate to other children, as well as experiencing parental figures other than their own mother and father. One of the most important things in school for every child is their friendships, and hundreds of thousands of children anxiously wait to see if next year their friends will be in the same class as them.
