ABSTRACT

Some people get better just by being allowed to talk. It helps to put things into words—to make conscious a lot of things that may have been vague in one's mind but have never been given proper attention. Putting things into words makes people aware of what was previously unconscious or pre-conscious. Helping people to make conscious connections helps them to a more complex way of understanding the complex world, and helps them to be closer to it and contain it more appropriately. Psychotherapeutics considers what makes people better. But first need to decide what people mean by "better". People get better by cleaning up the framework created by their past, in terms of which they experience their life. The capacity to empathize and identify in this free way brings new riches to the personality, as people try out new roles and new perspectives to test their consonance with the already existing framework.
