ABSTRACT

Groups with parents who are in similar phases of pregnancy provide an important framework for the entire programme. Group cohesion develops over the duration of the course, from the twentieth week of pregnancy to the end of the first year of life. Parents make use of individual trauma therapy and the hotline as needed. The outcome of the early hardening and frustration was extreme emotional pain and the development of dissociation and dissociative processes in infants. The SAFE programme "Safe Attachment Formation for Educators" was developed specifically to foster the development of secure attachment patterns between parents and children, and to prevent attachment disorders, particularly the transmission of traumatic patterns across generations. The behavioural problems of preschool children were analysed before and one year after babywatching in a prospective, randomised design with a comparison group without intervention. The purpose of the child guidance clinics was to do consultation and give good child-rearing guidance to new parents in post-World War Germany.
