ABSTRACT

Sex makes people feel dirty and clean. There is a history of sex as sullying, corrupting. Sex as sin, associated with the wretched, dying, decaying body. Something associated with shame, guilt, fear. Most of our show of rationality is make-believe rationality. Our adaptations are filled with pretence too. The bubble contains a negative hallucination of sorts. It hallucinates an incapacity away. It erases a failure to let in an inability to admit wrong. "Sexual abuse was something she could point to but there were other things harder to point to. Abuse covered emotional warp and deprivation that left her feeling impoverished, twisted. "A male patient dreamt of a heterosexual couple. The woman, especially, had a full, open body. Immediately after this, he dreamt of two men, gay men he thought, with a solid, full, open feeling too. The dream gifts him with a sense of being that makes life worthwhile, that makes being human worth it.
