ABSTRACT

The man who confessed to the murder went to prison for the crime, but no evidence emerged relating to other aspects of the young woman's allegations. The man that he confessed to having murdered was one of the people who had been named by the young woman as being an abuser of young people and of being involved in rituals. A woman who was under the care of a Community Psychiatric Nurse reported to the nurse that she was being ritually abused and that the abuse was ongoing. A woman told the psychiatrist that she was being taken out regularly and hurt, and that people were leaving dead animals on her doorstep. An investigating officer would have to take it to a senior officer; there would be a record of what investigation liad taken place so far; there would have to be a written rationale behind every case where the decision was not to investigate.
