ABSTRACT

The author when he met Douglas for the first time, he saw a tall, brown-skinned, six-year-old boy of African origin who darted around the waiting room in every direction. He came with his adoptive parents, Margareta and Gunnar, for a psychological assessment. Douglas appeared to be in a state of psychological dissolution and had a severe lack of inner structure. He broke loose from his dad's grip and rushed at other adults who were sitting in the waiting room. He seemed to perceive other children who were also there as objects. Since the author did not had a chance to greet Douglas, he took his hand and told his name. After half an hour they were ready to go up the stairs and started the session. This was the first of the five visits during a span of three weeks which took him to conduct a psychological assessment on Douglas.
