ABSTRACT
An elderly medical man told me that whenever he has to sound a woman with a stethoscope, and for this purpose puts his head near to her breast, he experiences an unusual flow of saliva; as a rule his saliva secretion does not exceed the normal. I have no doubt of the infantile (oral-erotic) source of this peculiarity. (Compare also the case with ‘mouth pollutions’ mentioned by Abraham in Zeitschrift für Psychoanalyse, IV. p. 71.)
