ABSTRACT

It is very important to learn to relax as well. This helps one to rebalance their basic body functioning, which often gets overstressed—especially with anxiety. The many and various relaxation techniques that people look at in a moment all have their own claims to effectiveness: visualization, relaxation, prayer, humour, biofeedback, Tai Chi, massage, and meditation are some of the choices. Most carry a significant feature: increased self-awareness. There are many different ways to relax: mediation and "mindfulness", progressive relaxation, autogenic therapy, music, warm water, massage, breaks, and leisure and pleasure. Warm water is very relaxing: hydrotherapy is a very well established relaxation treatment, dating back to the Greek and Roman times. Massage is also an excellent form of the relaxation. It does not particularly matter what type of massage, but aromatherapy massages are now quite popular and fairly readily available.
