ABSTRACT
The journey I embarked on to understand the emergence of my analytic identity has become closely intertwined with the personal. The patients through whom I developed and grew and my journey through the resistance and acceptance of my own therapy process all informed my clinical identity. The struggles of immigration, assimilation, and reintegration back into my home country, helped to mold this identity as well. Thus, I share with you my personal stories of immigration, doubt and hesitation, and finally my crossings within and 46between my own realities in order to affirm and appreciate my patient’s internal cultural frame and worldview.
