ABSTRACT

This chapter discusses a Social Dreaming Matrix, which was led by the author and his colleague Helen Morgan at the Jung Congress. They convened this Matrix, when the International Association of Analytic Psychology met in England, at Cambridge, under the catch-all title of: "2001". The chapter also shows how that value of providing a space for Social Dreaming at such large events is expressed, in various ways relevant to the particular nature of that event. The dreams that followed contained people of many different nationalities: Spanish, South American, Portuguese, Greek and African. People spoke louder, or stood up to make their contributions. At the final meeting, there was sadness for the coming dissolution of "the Matrix" that had provided each of people with so many powerful images, whether primary or associative, as well as some unexpected experiences.
