ABSTRACT

Porn materials in the internet are more and more accessed by children before puberty, and one can surely wonder about the negative effects of the exposure to contents that cannot yet be mentalised or embodied by a child. The impact on the processes of identity formation during teenage years, including development of sexual identity, of porn material that can be extreme, pretty unrealistic, and inclined to desensitise the viewer, is a matter of legitimate concern. A touch of porn is considered cool, nowadays, transgression being actually the norm. Porn products could be seen as the only ones that appropriately make use of sexual seduction as a way to attract attention, as the products are themselves sexual. Legs, tits, asses used to advertise a car, a drill, a holiday, or an insurance company are much more deceitful and dodgy than if they just advertise themselves, and the powerful attraction of sex.
