ABSTRACT

Anger is very specific, as it relates to a strong physical, emotional, and psychological reaction. Anger could be short-lived, or could linger, depending on the circumstances and the personality of the individual concerned. When someone experiences rage it means that his or anger has got out of control, and this is when it is likely that violence could be associated with such a feeling. Anger is often based on fear, but may also be a feeling in its own right. Anger may also manifest itself in cases of dementia and following a head injury. Irritability, although associated with anger, is not at all like anger. Frustration is more likely to happen when people are feeling as if people are being obstructed in some way. Road rage is a good example of this –, an individual forgets about his or her own safety and the safety of others and is simply intent on making a point.
