ABSTRACT

This was a very popular lecture given over Pacifica Radio, KPFA, Berkeley. Eventually the radio station produced a promotional record called Pacifica Sampler in which they included a segment from Green-son's lecture. The program notes read in part, "it can be broadcast repeatedly without ever stemming the tide of requests for re-broadcasts." In the lecture Greenson tried to show how a psychoanalyst understands people who hate and what he saw in people who hate; more than that, how he viewed hate itself and people who do not even know that they hate.
