ABSTRACT

This conclusion presents some closing thoughts on the key concepts discussed in the proceeding chapters of this book. The book describes that the digital age is the single most exciting "happening" for psychotherapy since Sigmund Freud. Psychotherapy 2.0 is the space where psychotherapy and technology meet. The book attempts to convey this but trying to capture the essence of Psychotherapy 2.0 and bottle it is almost impossible as the subject is far reaching and diverse as cyberspace itself. It focuses on the depth and intensity of the psychotherapeutic encounter through asynchronous methods: using email. The book discusses that many young people might actually find the consulting room far more daunting than online help. The online world is also expanding the ways of working with many new platforms such as Big White Wall and MindFull. Social technologies both enable and disable.
