ABSTRACT

Initially I had planned to use the video that was shot when I presented my paper: Psychotherapy penetrates beyond skin colour at a Black History event, but unfortunately the sound was terrible because the sensitive microphone had picked up the noise from the nearby construction work, destroying our video. I decided to shoot a thirty-minute video still using the same presentation. I roped in my family. My eldest daughter, Karen, was my make-up artist. My youngest daughter, Kiara, helped me rehearse the poem I was going to recite so she was my director and choreographer. The rest were cynics who thought they had found free entertainment. It was fun working with both supporters and cynics.
