ABSTRACT

Marketing is a broader word than advertising. This is about how marketing managers get themselves known and gain their professional reputation as a counsellor. Three questions that marketing managers must ask themselves before they set out in business, and answer in detail are: What service can managers offer? How different is managers' practice to that of their competitors? What can managers practice offer that is unique? The answer to these three questions will determine how managers develop their practice/business and will form the basis of all their marketing and will underpin their business. Whatever the answers to these and the other questions managers ask themselves, the answers will be quite unique according to your strengths and weaknesses. The ideal goal for the development of business, from a marketing point of view, will be to develop managers' professional reputation and competence to such an extent that they do not need to undertake any additional marketing.
